Therapy approach
How I work
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, low mood and stress.
Many of the people I work with may be used to managing a lot of demands in their personal or professional life, but are now finding that their usual patterns of coping are no longer as effective as they used to be. People typically notice this most during periods of life transition or change such as changes in their working life or personal relationships, or becoming a parent.
As human beings, we are all richly complex individuals with our own unique set of life experiences, strengths and challenges. You may not feel like there is a word, label or name for what you are experiencing, but that something just feels ‘different’. However I have included below a list of clinical areas that I commonly work with, as I understand that this can sometimes feel helpful when trying to find a psychologist or therapist that you feel can help you:
A warm, thoughtful and collaborative space
I provide a thoughtful, warm and collaborative space in therapy where we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels manageable for you.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained to draw on a range of psychological and therapeutic models in my work, offering an integrative approach tailored to your individual needs.
In therapy we may spend time exploring patterns in how you relate to yourself and others, reflecting on how earlier life experiences may have informed these patterns and making sense of difficult emotions.
Therapy can also be focused on developing new coping strategies for managing difficult emotions and situations.
